La Llorona - The Weeping Woman
Composed by Brandon Pozzo and Lozell Henderson

Based on the Mexican folklore figure, La Llorona (The Weeping Woman) is a dark tale that has been passed down through many generations.

"[La Llorona] is said to wail for her own lost or dead children; in many of these stories, she killed her own children when she was alive and is doomed for her actions to be a wandering ghost. In other stories, she appears mainly to women who have children, while in still others, she kidnaps children, who are never seen again" (Winick, blogs.loc.gov).

The show follows her story from the beginning, when she was a beautiful woman in love. But, after being betrayed by her lover, La Llorona takes her revenge becoming the ghostly figure that has haunted this Earth for generations.

The second movement features a saxophone quartet moment perfect for a group that wants to show off their talented saxophone players.
